Stolz department store in Born

Price and quality have to be right

General contractor for 5 “Stolz” subsidiaries

With its 31 stores in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-West-Pommerania, Stolz is one of the best known department store chains in the north of Germany. Customers get good prices on the best quality products, a large selection of goods and friendly service. To continue its growth and ability to offer low prices, the holding company planned 5 new subsidiaries. We worked as the general contractor on the project and were to deliver the facilities as not fitted out, but ready to use. “I just called HAB on the off chance,” explains Martin Stolz, the company's owner, “It was pure luck, and I was really truly lucky!...HAB fulfilled all our wishes to the letter,” he adds.

One such example is the department store with its office and communal areas in Born. Our engineers designed a two aisle roof which looks similar to a tent, using trapeze shaped panels, insulation and corrugated aluminium cladding. We also installed solar panels on the roof so that the store can generate its own power. We gave the wall the right look, too, cladding the pillars made of aerated concrete with brickwork. “The employees took care of everything. Whenever we had a question, we got an answer straight away. Our architect also really enjoyed working together with HAB,” says Martin Stolz in summary.
